I was going through the #loveyourlines feed a few minutes ago and became teary-eyed at the bravery and so happy at what fellow women are doing.
I don’t necessarily know when my stretch marks showed up, but I too have them on the side of my thighs and tush and was always so ashamed of them.
We can’t help but to look at the women on TV or in magazines and want to have their perfect airbrushed body and skin.
How easily we forget that being polished for TV or a Magazines is for the sole purpose of selling an inorganic product – an image. Even though celebrities are indeed human, they are made to appeal visually perfect in order to sell their image as a celebrity and not their abstract as a human.
Remember this whenever you look in the mirror and start to notice the things on your body that don’t seem to occur on a model. It is because you are SO much more than an image.
You are a being with a plan, purpose, and journey.
You are a woman who has lived through some events in her life that only her body can explain.
You are a woman who may have gained a few pounds after encountering a major loss in her life and sought food for comfort.
You are also that same woman who realized she deserved better than what she was doing to her self, worked hard, and lost that weight.
You are a woman who overcame a life threatening disease.
You are a woman who carried LIFE within her for MONTHS.
You are a woman who smiled enough through out her life to create crows feet on the corners of her eyes and lines at the side of her mouth
Don’t you see that your imperfections show so much more than the illusion of perfection? It shows that you are the TRUE stars. You are the TRUE warriors.
Don’t hide from the world the very thing that shows evidence of what you’ve been through. All of that which you’ve experienced is what made you who you are today.
